Counselling for Bray & north Wicklow
Secure online and phone sessions — or in person in Gorey, an hour down the M11.
Bray is close enough to Dublin to inherit its pace and far enough out to feel the commute in your body. Time to Change offers a confidential hour that does not require you to be anywhere but a quiet room.
Counselling & psychotherapy for Bray
Bray carries a particular kind of pressure: Dublin's cost of living and commuting rhythm, with a coastal town's small-world familiarity. People arrive describing overwhelm they cannot justify — a good job, a full house, and a persistent sense of running on empty. Others come with something much older that a house move, a bereavement or a health scare has brought back to the surface.
Linda Corlett is an IACP-accredited psychotherapist with over 14 years of client experience, working integratively — humanistic, existential and cognitive-behavioural strands woven around the person rather than a protocol. She holds an MA in Pluralistic Counselling & Psychotherapy, a BSc and MSc in Physiology, is a qualified general nurse, and completed a Level 8 Certificate in Clinical Work with Substance-Using Clients in 2024.
For Bray and north Wicklow clients, the practical answer is usually online. Secure video and telephone sessions are 50 minutes, held under the same GDPR and IACP confidentiality standards as in-person work, and charged at the same fee. No download, no waiting room, no hour of the evening lost to travel — you close the laptop and you are already home.
In-person sessions in Gorey remain open to you: about 68 km and roughly 55 minutes on the M11, with free parking at the door, a ground-floor step-free room, and no shared waiting area. Some clients come in person once a month and work online in between, which is often the most sustainable pattern of all.
Whether it is anxiety, panic, low mood, grief, trauma, addiction, or a life that has quietly stopped fitting, you do not need a referral or a diagnosis to begin. One short, confidential conversation with no obligation is enough to find out whether this is right for you.

About Bray
Bray is the largest town in Co. Wicklow and, in practice, the northern hinge between the county and Dublin — a Victorian seaside resort that became a commuter town without ever losing the seafront. The DART and the M11 shape the working day for thousands of households; rents and mortgages shape the rest. Around it sit Enniskerry, Kilmacanogue, Shankill, Greystones and Delgany, each with its own mix of long-settled families and newer arrivals. What comes into therapy from this catchment tends to be commuter burnout, parenting on very little slack, loneliness inside a busy life, health anxiety after a diagnosis, grief that the sea walk keeps reopening, and the quiet erosion that comes from years of coping well.
"You do not have to be in crisis to deserve an hour that is entirely yours."
Common questions from Bray clients
Is there a counselling room in Bray itself?+
No — Linda's room is in Gorey, Co. Wexford. For Bray clients the usual arrangement is secure video or telephone sessions, which are identical in length, fee and confidentiality to in-person work. In-person sessions are entirely possible if you would prefer the drive.
How long is the drive from Bray to Gorey?+
Roughly 68 km and about 55 minutes on the M11 southbound, with free on-site parking at the practice. Some clients do this once a month and work online in between.
Are online sessions as effective as sitting in the room?+
For most of the work people bring — anxiety, low mood, grief, stress, addiction, life transitions — the research and Linda's own experience say yes. What matters far more than the medium is the relationship and your own consistency. If online is not working for you, she will say so honestly.
What do I need for a secure video session?+
A private room, a phone or laptop, headphones if the house is busy, and a reasonable connection. A link comes by email before the session. If the video drops, Linda rings you and the work continues by phone.
How much does a session cost?+
€80 for a 60-minute session and €110 for a 90-minute session, by Revolut or on arrival. Online sessions are the same fee as in-person.
Who does Linda work with?+
Adults and third-level students. She does not currently offer child therapy, couples or family work, and will point you towards a suitable service if that is what you need.
